Creating Accessibility to Quality Healthcare
Linda believes our families deserve access to quality and affordable health care. She knows no senior should have to choose between paying for prescription drugs and affording other life necessities such as food.
Working to Improve the Economy
Linda is working to bring jobs and economic growth to our communities. Our most urgent domestic challenge is to put the economy back on track, creating good jobs. That's why Linda supports a fiscal plan that promotes putting money back into the pockets of working families. She proposes to do this through tax cuts that do not increase the national debt.
Fighting for Women's Rights
Linda has proven her dedication to advancing women's rights. She is fighting to ensure that every American woman receives equal treatment in the workplace and in schools. Linda is also a strong advocate for policies that protect women's health and the right to choose, and working to get more women and girls involved in their communities.
Promoting a Better Environment
Linda is a champion in protecting air and water quality for the residents of the 39th district, and she is helping to educate our communities on the dangers of nearby contaminated waters.
Protecting Our Children and Education
Linda believes that every child deserves an A+ education. She has lead the effort in Congress to build and renovate schools, to protect Head Start from being cut, and to provide scholarships for new and qualified teachers in our public schools. She has fought to restore maximum funding to President George Bush's "No Child Left Behind Act," which has been under-funded by the House leadership.
Protecting Immigrant Families
Linda is committed to improving the lives of immigrant families. America is a country built and sustained by immigrants. She is working hard in Congress to make sure that hard-working immigrants are able to reunite with their loved ones, have access to safe and secure jobs, have the opportunity to become full citizens of the United States, and have better educational opportunities.
Working for Our Seniors
Linda has made improving the quality of life for America's seniors one of her top priorities. She is committed to enabling our seniors to enjoy the golden years of life, rather than living in fear of poverty.
Supporting Small Business
Linda knows that small businesses are the backbone of our country. That's why she is working hard in Congress to provide critical financial support to small businesses, by opening the federal contracting system and increasing access to capital to help create new opportunities, grows existing businesses, and boosts our economy.
Honoring Our Veterans
Linda is dedicated to honoring the contributions of our service men and women. She wants to ensure that those who serve today have incentives to continue, those who served in the past are properly honored, and those who choose to serve in the future are coming into a military system that is the best in the world.
Improving Transportation Infrastructure
Linda has made it a goal to improve the transportation infrastructure and surrounding air quality of roads and highways in the 39th Congressional District.
